Does the tank just need a good clean? What would cause this? Overfeeding?

It's too much waste in the water and too much light. Best tips are to make sure the tank isn't in direct sunlight and to do plenty of water changes (50% a week). Get yourself a basic water test kit and keep your eye on nitrates - if these are high that's the fertiliser for your algae...

My favourite saying - the solution to pollution is dilution. In other words - water change :)

Yep, extra water changes are always a good idea Smile make sure you don't forget to dechlorinate the fresh water.

Algae is normally caused by too much light or too many nutrients- can be caused by overfeeding or overstocking (or both). How big is the tank and what's in it?
