As in what to put in ky tank not an Xmas stocking for the fish!
currently I've got a Rio 120l running an external with just two bn plecs, five silver tip tetras and about ten/12 plattys of varying colours! that's it. I dont even particularly like the tetras but was persuaded in to them as hardy for the first fish in after the cycle. have been looking round lfs this morning and quite like the look of he rainbows, would the big ones be too big for my other stock? I love the rams bit water is not right for them at about 7.8 ph. I currently change 20% once a week with gravel vac as the plecs are messy buggers and don't want to stock so much that I have to increase frequency really just want a bit more colour and interest.

how about a pair of peacock gobies? alkaline water will be fine, they stay small, they're brightly coloured, great fun to watch, harmless to other fish....

I always thought peacocks were difficult to keep for some reason? will have a nose Smile.

I had some a while back, they weren't that difficult- maybe a bit fussier than some of the more rugged species. I'd been told they were fussy eaters but mine took flake food with no probs. they are a bit picky about water conditions so you can't slack on the water changes.
