We are getting a 60 litre tank next week going to do a fishless cycle then start thinking about fish.
I would be grateful for advice on how many fish to buy. Also is it possible to have a crab in a freshwater tank.

You can get freshwater crabs, and you can get small freshwater crabs, but I wouldn't mix them with small fish- anything that moves too slowly will get pinched!

Will you heat the tank or not?

Thanks Eau, we have decided on a heated tank. So would you advise against having a crab in with neon tetras? We were thinking of a group of those a couple of bigger fish a snail and hopefully a crab but want to check that that would be suitable first.

Yes, definitely no crabs with neon tetras. There are lots of small colourful shrimps that would be suitable if you're after something a bit different to fish. You could have a group of neon tetras and maybe a pair of dwarf gouramis.

Thanks again Eau Smile I will look into getting some shrimp instead
