EauRouge? Bigger tank ?

I've finally got a 60l tank for our danios and minnows. I am planning to fill it today. I know ideally I would cycle a new tank before adding fish but their current tank is too small and algae prone in the summer. I don't want to shock the fish by moving them to soon. Any suggestions? TIAThanks

If you've got a mature tank then there's no need to cycle the new one- nearly all the good bacteria will be in the filter so you can just move that over, or move the sponges etc into the new filter.

So, step-by-step:

  1. Drain most of the water out of the old tank.
  2. Catch fish and bag them.
  3. Switch off old filter and either transfer it to new tank, or if you have a new filter move the sponges into new filter and get it running in the new tank.
  4. Put old water into new tank.
  5. Float the bagged fish and acclimatise.

Does that help any? :)
