I just want a quick rant. I've got a pointless little 30 litre tank that my son was given, so I planted it heavily and have about 10 ghost shrimps in it. Ultimately I want to put a Betta in there.
I've been away for a couple of days and my husband and MIL have been looking after all the pets. Somehow the filter has been switched off and all my shrimps are dead. I did an immediate water change and thought a couple might make it but sadly not.
It could have been far, far worse. It could have been my big goldfish tank or my son's tetra tank but I feel so sad for the shrimps. They were the last of a batch of feeder shrimps who had outsmarted the goldfish and set up home on the powerhead. I took pity on them and moved them to the tiny tank and they have been thriving ever since. It seems really
unfair that they should then be killed so pointlessly.
