My dd has asked if we can adopt her friends unwanted fish. It is a weather loach. I am happy to have it and we have a tank but when I googled it, ut seems they are social fish and grow big, in fact a minimum tank size of 4ft was suggested. This is to go in dds bedroom and a tank that size would be way too big. The fish is currently unloved and living alone in a not too clean tank. Do i take it anyway and then try and sell it or refuse to take it? I cant help thinking dd would be better off with some easier to care for
small fish. What do you reckon?

Yes they do need a tank that big and they like company too. Minnows are easy to look after and they stay small, you'd only need a 2 ft tank.

There are lots of Facebook groups for fish rehoming. Poor loach Sad I do wish people would do their research before buying a fish.
