eau I need help

my darling dd put a whole tub if catfish pellets in tank yesterday didn't get removed til this morning all removed 80% wc this morning but have still lost one clown loach and other two struggling all fish are now in a bucket in kitchen with an air pump going with fresh treated water I'm going to strip tank out fresh water and clean the lot but leave filter runnjng. am I doing the right thing? help Sad Sad Sad

no, dont strip the tank, just do a masdive water change, like 75% and then do another. make sure you dechlorinate. give the filter a rinse in tank water and then get it running. have you got water test resukts?

yeah no ammonia but nitrites off the scale Sad have changed as much as I dare everything testing at zero but will keep an eye on it regularly and carry on doing wc

May I suggest Seachem Prime - its a concentrated dechlorinator, and if you double or possibly triple the dose (don't have bottle to hand to look) it is good in a pinch for detoxifying ammonia and nitrite.

thank you both water testing back at normal now thank goodness, o will get some prime in for emergencies I think murder!
