i so want a pufferfish!

Anybody kept them? I know they have to be kept alone in a well cycled tank, but has anyone on here got anymore hints,tips or good advice for me please?

They are extremely cute I was going to get a dwarf puffer ages ago but had no one to look after it while I was away- you can't really just stick an auto feeder on.

What species were you thinking of?

Yes, although from what I've read, they don't suffer too much from overgrown beaks like a lot of puffer species- I'd still be feeding them quite a lot of snails anyway. They are quite fussy, so lots of live food, maybe some frozen stuff but I don't think you'd get away with flakes or pellets.

Also they are very picky about water quality so need quite a large tank for their size. You could keep a couple in a 10 gallon providing it was heavily planted or maybe with a bit of bogwood in the middle to split it into two territories.

They are the world's cutest fish. I want one again now.

We have two figure of eight puffers, Phineas and Ferb, they are so sweet and really placid. They have little characters and live with two small platys that refused to be captured when we moved all the other fish onto a bigger tank and a large plec.
