1, What are your thoughts on products such as tetraaqua blackwater extract and API prevent algae? Both have been recommended by different people.

2, Does anyone have any knowledge of newts? My son saw some today and would love one in his tank.

3, For the life of me I can't remember what my third question was going to be...doh! I will no doubt remember at 3 in the morning! :p

Thanks in advance.

Blackwater extract is great for bringing the colours of some fish out and can make biotope set ups look really authentic- it mostly depends on what fish you have and how obsessive you are about having your own slice of the Rio Negra in your living room Grin

Algae control stuff usually treats the symptom rather than the source of the problem. Better to find out what's causing the algae.

I'm on my phone and I can't remember what your second question was, hang on.....

Newts! That's right. Does your DS have fish? Fish and newts don't mix, newts need a specialist set up really.

Thanks Eau. The tank the newt would potentially go into just has corydoras and a bristlenose. We were warned it couldn't go in the tank with the tiger barbs because its feet would become their lunch!
