Would platys fit in with this lots?

I currently have in my 185 litre tank: One angel fish, 2 Bolivian Rams, 5 neons, 4 peppered corys and one bristlenose plec.

I like the current setup but think I have room for a couple more, maybe something quite brightly coloured like platys. Can anyone give me any suggestions? There's no aggression in the tank currently, except for a bit of "squaring up" between the 2 rams. Would other fish upset the balance?

I'd probably build up the shoal of corys before I started adding more fish, 4 isn't really large enough for a shoal. I'd add 2-4 more. The neon shoal is on the small side too but I'd be wary of adding more for the reason that everyone I know who has mixed angels and neons, the neons have ended up as lunch Shock

Well, I read mixed things about neons and angels. There were certainly people who didn't recommend it, but there did seem to be several who had successfully kept them. I've kept a close eye on the tank for this reason, and the angel really doesn't seem interested in them. (He is INFATUATED with the plec though!)
I'll take your advice on the corys for sure. I love them! Out of interest, do they all need to be the same type of cory or will different varieties all be "friends?"

Ideally all the same species. You could add a few albino peppered if you want a bit of variety- there are also albino aeneus available so make sure you get the right ones. When you get a nice big shoal they get so playful, it's ace watching them. They'll probably breed too.

How big is the angel?

He's about 4 inches from the tip of his fin to the bottom of his er.... tentacle/whisker things at the bottom. Very pretty to look at. Do you think my tank would stretch to perhaps 10 corys? I'm not worried aggression-wise, as I've never EVER seen corys hassle or be hassled, but more space wise....

I have lots of bronze and albino corys, I get eggs after EVERY water change! I also have a couple of zebra type corys. they are beautiful, but no eggs yet.

I also have panda corys, but they are very tiny still!

Panda corys are so cute! They stay quite tiny too. Not as tiny as the pygmy species, I've always wanted some of those.

You mean 10 corys in total or you want to add 10? Stocking isn't an exact science, there are so many variables. I would monitor your water levels and see how quickly the nitrate rises in between water changes. That should give you an idea of how the aquarium is coping with the bio-load. I would guess that 10 corys total would be fine though.

That's great TFC! I had eggs from my peppered corys in my old 50l tank but none so far this time - they are fairly small though still. There are these ones in the fish shop which seem to be white with black squiggles over them, they're gorgeous but for some reason about twice as dear!

Eau - sorry I meant 10 altogether, the six future ones probably added in 2 batches of 3.

I am resolved to doing a biiiiiiiiiiiiig cleanup tomorrow (gravel, ornaments, water etc) so when it's all settled down after that I will pop to the fish shop :)

yes i think the white with black squiggles are the ones i have. they have little ornage fins at front. they were bloody expensive, and one of them got ill and now is not as bright and his body is a bit fluffy. (he had been treated and is better now, but i think it must have scared him)

yes! i have two of them! They are very pretty, i will be getting some more and see if i can get eggs! I also have an albino sterbai.
