My cichlids have fry

It's a new set up, so I'm really pleased. I have a pair of Kribensis which now have a massive following of cute little fry. Has anyone bred them before and can give me some tips? How long until I should move the fry to my nursery tank? My nursery tank has 3 corys in it, does that matter?

How big's your nursery tank? How old are the fry now? And what the heck are you going to do with them all?

My nursery tank is around 60l, I have only noticed the fry today, so they are very young, not swimming yet so maybe a couple of days. I think my local maidenhead will take them as I chatted about this with them when I bought the pair. The male of the pair is a real looker so they were quite keen to take any fry!

Oh good, they've got homes then! I think you might need more space than 60 litres for growing them on. Maybe give MH a call and ask how big they need to be before they will take them on.

If 60 litres isn't enough space to raise them (I would guess not!) then plastic storage boxes would be a cheap way to make space for them. Make sure it's food-grade plastic. The really useful ones you get from Staples are suitable, a lot of fishkeepers use them as temporary tanks. You'd also need heaters and filters.

I'm not sure how soon you can move them, but I know after about 6-8 weeks the adults can spawn again so I would guess by this point they would need to move.
