Will anyone buy assasins from me?

Our assasin snails are erm.... a little busy! We started with 3 and now have (I kid you not) at least 100 I reckon Blush . The question is what to do with them? They are not currently doing any harm, but it would be nice to get rid of some. I read somewhere that although some people like us have huge breeding problems, others can't get them to breed at all and struggle to find them in the shops. Just wondered if their is a market for them really!

well i bought mine off ebay, so i guess you could sell them on there??

or have a look on facebook, we have a local fish paraphernalia buying/selling group...

I've seen them on ebay, but am really worried about posting them! I would be really Blush if they arrived at their destination dead Shock

I think most people sell them on ebay. Royal Mail don't allow snails to be sent by post (but they allow baby fish. Yes, I have had this conversation with them. It makes no sense!) so while I would never encourage anyone to break the rules Wink I have heard that some people label them 'live plants' so they are not thrown around.

If they are anything like malaysian trumpet snails then full on nuclear warfare would merely slow them down a bit, so I wouldn't worry about them arriving dead. A small plastic food pot with a bit of water in, then stuffed in a jiffy bag would probably be a good way to package them. So I've heard.

EauRouge you do make me laugh! I must also be careful that they don't eat each other on the way (yes this did happen when we bought the original 4 that became 3 & a shell before we got home). Or perhaps I should pop a couple of babies in as a live food source for them during the journey! Wink

ours came in a small plastic pot (a bit liek a pot of glitter) filled with water and a bit of foam to stop it getting shaken around.
pot was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a jiffy bag
