30 litre tank

so, we have a 30 litre tank that the boys were given as a present, which we fairly quickly upgraded. we now have a 108 litre tank which is much better for all the fish.

however, ds1 wanted to keep the small tank and have it in his room, which we did, with a couple of guppies in.

problem is that they're not that happy being in a too small group and the tank isn't really big enough for a shoal of them...
so what can I put in the tank?? i thought about one siamese fighter but ds1 wasn't overly keen on that idea.

are there any other fish that prefer to live alone and wouldn't mind a smallish tank?
also, what's the best filter to get for a little tank? we have the one that came free with the tank but i don;'t think it's that great

tia!

Hello mate :)

Hmm, you are probably best off getting a handful of cherry shrimp, would your DS1 like those do you think? They are small and bright red and loads of fun to watch. They do like clean water though so you have to be careful to keep up with water changes.

Hagen do an Elite Mini filter that's not bad, I used to have one in a shrimp tank of around 30 litres and it did a good job. Do you have a little heater in there?

will suggest shrimp to him and see what he reckons.

would they like real plants or do they not care? at the moment he has plastic plants in his
