filter question?

Hi, Ive just started my first aquarium, Ive got the aqua - flow filter, the instructions are not very clear. How deep should I put the filter in the water, it has a spray bar should that be under or below the water level?

The flow of water from out of the filter needs to move the surface of the water to help with gas exchange, I would stick it just below the water but slightly angled upwards.

Make sure you do a fishless cycle before you put any fish in!
