Has anyone seen 'Sideways' who could fill me in on missed ending?

I really enjoyed it and got to the bit when the bearded angst ridden one accidentally told Maya that they had to get back fro his friend's wedding rehearsal dinner nad she went nuts.
Then my screen blanked out (on a plane)
Gaaah!!!

It's a great movie and what a place to finish it. OK, here is my recollection of what happened but it might be confusing as I cannot remember any names.

Maya told her friend what happened and she, went crazy and beat up radio voice over man with her motorbike helmut so he ends up with a broken nose and black eyes in time for the wedding.... Cue radio voice over man asking his friend, as they were driving back, "do you think these injuries are consistent with a car crash?" or words to that effect and then causing a minor car crash so he has an excuse for his face. Wedding goes ahead. Bearded angst ridden one bumps into ex who is pregnant. Angsty moment. Then he gets a letter from Maya - she has read his book and the letter is lovely and understanding and then it kind of ends.

I don't think I will ever be writing movie reviews for a living.

Did voice over guy's wife find out the truth?
(I thought the Japanese one conveyed sense of bubbling under surface craziness well.)

No, voice over guy's wife never found out the truth - there was a huge amount of sympathy for him and you saw him at the wedding all bandaged up lapping it up. The Japanese one's craziness really bubbled over - she was furious and devastated screaming things like, "I introduced you to my daughter" as she whacked him with the bike helmut.

Yes, there was a clear impression that Beardy and Maya had a future but that it would be very one step at a time.

Great film.

It ends with him drinking the expensive bottle of wine after his friends wedding in a burger bar then driving over to Maya's apartment and the closing shot was him climbing the stairs to her door

moony I think he needed to do it by himself to realise what a fool he had been putting his life on hold for his wife and crap career.
