Loving this thread! I'm with Channel 4; Julia Wrigley, the head of the Film4 channel has written a post detailing future seasons and films coming up and is looking for suggestions for ideas for films or future seasons for Film4 - if you have any we'd love to hear them, just comment here - bit.ly/doFmzq x

War of the Roses with Michael Douglas (although I hate him), and Kathleen Turner.

There's a scene when he asks why she wants a divorce. Turner stands up, in all her glorious sultriness, and says ..

'because every time I watch you eat, every time I watch you sleep, and just lately, every time I watch you breath .. I just wanna smash your face in.'

Just saw Working Girl on TV the other night. It was SO 80's. The big hair, the shoulder pads... and Harrison Ford looked almost puppyish.

mrspear · 18/06/2011 20:34

Manequin

The War Game

Big

Goonies (guess my age!) :)

upahill · 19/06/2011 10:22

Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown is my favourite film ever not just the 1980's

fuckmepinkandcallmerosie · 19/06/2011 10:26

Withnail and I

The Brooke Shields one was Blue Lagoon, I think?

akaemmafrost · 20/06/2011 16:24

About Last Night with Rob Lowe and Demi Moore, surprised it has not already been mentioned on this thread, I absolutely loved it, RL was just gorgeous in it.

Some Kind Of Wonderful

At Elmos Fire

The Breakfast Club

I remember so clearly how it felt to be an angst ridden teenager whenever I watch one of those films.

wimpybar · 20/06/2011 16:26

The Big Easy.

Appalling 80s clothes.

Great soundtrack.

Denis McQuaid's zero body fat, Irish-white, skinny yet muscular bod.

Yum yum.

I have just bought Top Gun dvd from ebay. It might be the film version of YMCA but god, I loved it. Happiest year of my life 1986. And I loved the fact that Kelly McGilis was clearly 10 inches taller than Tommy and had a double chin in the morning. And it didn't matter! (I even have the book of the film)

Also love (and will buy again idc):
Pretty in Pink (but sheesh that frock was repulsive) "I want them to know they didn't break me"
Some Kind of Wonderful
About Last Night "I'm going to turn around and walk off into the sunset, You can watch if you like"
DD
Dances With Wolves
Dead Poet's Society.
