Jacob can't act, Edward doesn't 'dazzle' in the sun, he just looks sweaty Everythings out of sync in the storyline.

Bah.

Its soooo bad I had to pause it to come here and complain.

It so doesn't do justice to the book, does it. Book Edward, the physically perfect God-like man, is not the same in the film.

The film doesn't capture Edward's ability to dazzle people at all.

Yes, if I hadn't read the book id be like 'WTF? is he constipated?'

I cringed when he did the supposedly deadly look at those four men in Port Angeles. he just looks like he's in pain, not at all menacing.

As I always say, the book is always better than the film. Twilight illustrates this beautifully.

Ive not stopped cringing. Am so glad I watched it whilst DH is out, he rips the piss out of my books enough without seeing this.

They are too fluid, Rosalie, Emmet ect in the hall are supposed to be still and staring, not roling all over each other talking.

Its actually pissing me off, maybe I should watch something else? [grin}

I thought the casting of most of the parts was good though. Alice is just like I imagined her and Emmett is brilliant. Not sure about scary-looking Carlisle though.

Where are you up to? I think the meadow scene and the baseball scene are well worth watching.

Carlise looks sooo weird, not him at all.

Rosalie is too plain.

Charlie and James, spot on.

Im upto the woods where he is saying 'as if you could outrun me ...'

The script is so diff too, doesn't help that I could probably recite half the book

Me too. I've read it twice and I'm itching to read it again but trying to resist lest I become a complete obsessive.

Emmett is too small.

I had such high hopes for the film - loved the various clips I saw, but came out feeling "but.... but.... but..."

They missed too much out, like Edward and Bella actually spending time together before they started declaring their love.

I can't wait to see it, even if its just to slate it in comparison to the book

I think Edwards 'god like' quality is going to be very hard to translate into a mere mortal. Robert Pattison is cerainly very easy on the eye though.

Not with all that white make-up and the bouffant hair. Why oh why did they give him bouffant hair?

My Twilight DVD just arrived in the post. Must go a watch it...

There were a few bits i liked afterwards, the baseball scene was very fun, loved alices' pointy leg thing

but that kissing scene omg, that was too much, Edward was supposed to put his lips to hers and she grabs the back of his head and hes off to the other side of the field (not the bedroom where it chappened in the film) not 30 seconds of a very easy, very human snog.

Must admitt i was a bit watching that bit though

James was very scary.

Victorias hair wasn't red enough and she didn't look 'wild'.

Jasper looks like Johhny Depp playing Willy Wonka, lol.

And Alices visions did not transfer well.

Much toowishy washy to even touch the book.

I pre-ordered mine from Tesco and it arrived this morning.

I ordered from Play.com. Didn't even think of Tesco.

Tesco were about £1 more expensive than Play but they were promising delivery on around the 1st. Everyone else was offering the 6th.
The special features disc is good. There are loads of extended scenes and scenes that got cut - including a steamy kissing scene.
