Anyone seen it after reading the books? Went with DD and we were both insensed at the liberties the film took. Everything was plain wrong, wrong, wrong. Hate it when they change things so much.

And £5+ for a drink and a bag of Maltesers...

I was going to go and see it but i loved the books so i might not bother now. I hate it too when they change things because you spend the whole film saying 'it wasnt like that in the book'

Sherbert37 · 20/02/2009 22:08

Really wouldn't recommend it if you loved the books. Luke Brandon starts as Becky's lowly boss at Successful Savings magazine and it is set in America - and that is just the start.

I think i will stick with my books. Thanks, you have saved me some cash and probably my marriage and possibly my life. Dh would either have filed for divorce or strangled me by the end of the film.

I have read a review that says this film features shop mannequins which come to life and start talking to the ghastly woman.

I suppose it's too much for ask for them also to smash their way out through the glass and disintegrate her with their built-in, drop-down finger-guns?...

Once I heard Isla Fisher was the lead, I had decided to not see it. She is just soooo wrong for the part.

Plus the whole American thing, no, no, no. Becky is a London girl, not some poor Paris Hilton wanna be.

Pablop · 22/02/2009 10:47

I don't think I want to see it. Becky Bloomwood is British, why couldn't they have cast somebody British or somebody American pretending to be British?
Rene Zielweggor? (No idea if I spelt that correctly)
