Just saw this this afternoon - absolutely fabulous, the story moves at a cracking pace and the casting is amazing - Scarlett Johannsen and (especially) Penélope Cruz were PERFECTLY cast.

Good isn't it? Not usually a fan of those two ladies but they really pulled it off. Javier Bardem was also delicious! Such a transformation from 'No Country for Old Men'

Mind you, I don't think it comes out in the UK until Spring 09. What a travesty!

Saw this last night and was unexpectedly delighted. I thought it was a lot of fun and a rom com in the way that Slumdog was a feel good film. I can't think of anything else that I've seen Penelope Cruz in but thought she was great.

Saw this last week, found it pretty boring. Both actresses trying too hard to be Woody Allenish 'Leading Ladies.' Javier Bardem a complete hunk, of course. But no, lightweight

Loved it. A bit 'romantic' about old Europe designed forthe US market. Cruz and Johansson snogging didn't harm it either. But v. funny, darkly in lots of places.

I am afariad I thought this film was ok, not great, but ok (although Penelope cruz was fantastic) until the last couple of scenes. What a cop out, IMO.
