obviously the 3 year olds may well not watch it - and certainly not all of it - but it would be nice if they could. any ideas?

dvd or cinema?

alvin & the chipmunks

MingMingtheWonderPet · 19/09/2008 09:34

second vote for Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Terrible film, but the kids will love it!

hatwoman · 19/09/2008 09:35

sorry - dvd (hat shudders at the idea of taking 10 children aged 3-10 to the cinema...)

Flushed Away is good
Hoodwinked is ok, not brill but has its moments
The Water Horse is fab
Any of the Shreks, 3 is much better second time round imo

WideWebWitch · 19/09/2008 10:40

The Water Horse is really magical imo
but is live action, not animated

Sycamoretree · 19/09/2008 10:50

What about nanny mcphee? Too Girly?

Marina · 19/09/2008 10:53

My Neighbour Totoro
the younger ones will think Mei and Totoro are really cute, and love Lea Salonga belting out the opening number
the older ones will find the plot thought-provoking (two girls and their dad rent a house for the summer near to the isolation hospital where their mum is recovering from TB and are allowed to pretty much run wild as their dad is clearly preoccupied)
Everyone will love the stunningly beautiful animation, especially Pokemon fans
I think it is in my top three children's films of all time tbh

Marina · 19/09/2008 10:54

But yes, Alvin and the Chipmunks is a safe if earsplitting bet and it does have that lovely guy in from My Name is Earl

dd2 had to be removed from the cinema watching charlie and the chocolate factory - she was utterly freaked and terrified by the umpa loopahs.

the fox and the hound is the current fave in this house

MingMingtheWonderPet · 19/09/2008 17:39

Agree that Charlie and the Choc Factory quite scary.

Desiderata · 19/09/2008 17:42

Robotz.

My 3 year old watches it over and over again, and my neighbour's kid, who's seven, does the same!
