Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dark Knight

Anybody else disappointed with her perfromance?

Yes, I didnt like Katie HOlmes in the first one, but Maggie Gyllenhaal turned out to be just as disappointing. I don't think it was the right kind of role for her, and sometimes it just seemed like she was trying a little too hard.

I have to agree. I think she's great, usually, and was delighted when I heard she was taking over from KH. But that one big emotional scene between herself and Christian Bale when they kiss was so flat - for both actors. I can't help think the direction for that particular scene wasn't great if those two can seem crap at the same time. I don't think they (the editor & director) wanted to spend too much time on that when there was so much more exciting stuff to get to.

I was just completely confused that she was meant to be the same woman!

agree about the flatness
but then I thought it was great to see a natural looking woman complete with eyebags and saddlebags ( in terms of hollywood) and she pulled it off
