The Kite Runner

We Own The Night

Overmydeadbody · 08/08/2008 14:20

Having read the book, which is realy quite amazing, the film of the Kite Runner was really quite rubbish. Didn't even come close to capturing the story in the book and left out HUGE amounts.

Inquisitive · 08/08/2008 14:22

Pretty old, but Grosse Pointe Blank?

moshie · 08/08/2008 14:29

OMBD-Films always seem to leave out half the details of the book, but I haven't read it yet, so enjoyed it a lot.

PuppyMonkey · 08/08/2008 14:30

I have a great liking for Armegeddon.

So butch.

moshie · 08/08/2008 14:30

oh heck-OMDB, sorry

Overmydeadbody · 08/08/2008 14:36

lol

I think my mistake was in watching it the night after I finished the book, and having been engrossed in the book for four solid days the film just left me feeling a bit empty. As a film it was well made and all that, it just left so much unexplained! Read the book, I highly recommend it.

Cappuccino · 08/08/2008 14:51

I didn't even like the book, tbh

I have seen Grosse Point Blank so many times

Me too - it's one of my favourite films!

Oooh - Hot Fuzz (funny AND fighting).

Or for a completely different angle, what about Stardust?

bogie · 08/08/2008 15:04

vantage point very good imo if they have it available me and dp liked it which is very rare for us to agree on a film
