lol. No, I don't think so. But quite a lot of him wandering about in his hi-tech suit with in-built muscles, and quite a lot of staring out of windows and looking oddly blank whilst considering his role in Gotham City.

What a waste of an opportunity. CB is such a blank canvas, very nice to look at, but that's about it.

Flamesparrow · 28/07/2008 19:24

Heath Ledger was fabulous - such a bloody waste

Christian Bale was as wooden as ever.

He ain't Welsh though expat! He grew up here, and I am def not in Wales (as much as DH whinges about that). He would have left the school the year I started I think.... (well, the boys version)

suzywong · 31/07/2008 16:55

I did not get it AT ALL
I could not follow the plot AT ALL
I really feel less would have been far more in this case
DH says you need to read the comics to get it and it's really very very deep in the manner of the Greek Classics and Norse Legends.
Luckily I wore my only woolly jumper which has a deep loose polo neck so I was able to nod off in that for most of it and not look foolish.

I did like the bits where Michael Caine gets right gor blimey chirpy cockney inadvertently though.

Heath was way out there. It was odd sitting in a cinema he would have definitely sat in himself as a lad. A million miles away.

suzywong · 01/08/2008 07:53

did anyone else follow it?

RubySlippers · 01/08/2008 07:59

i went to see this last night

Had NO idea what was going on - couldn't tell you if it was an homage to Norse legends or not but it was about 45 minutes too long

Heath Ledger acted everyone off the screen - you missed him when he wasn't there

he was incredible

i found CB's lisp most disconcerting

suzywong · 01/08/2008 08:00

oh hurrah!

ruty · 01/08/2008 08:09

WHY does CB speak in an American accent? I mean in interviews? It just sounds so silly. MrsBates are/were you an actress? [nosy emoticon]

RubySlippers · 01/08/2008 08:12

Does he really?!

the film was just a series of set pieces strung together

there was a lot of spectacular explosions

i have to say the first 15 mins was excellent - taut and exciting and that was just CB's butt

lisping aside he looks damn fine in the batsuit

ruty · 01/08/2008 08:13

can on really fancy a man wearing a pair of bat ears?

RubySlippers · 01/08/2008 08:16

unbelievably, i think i can

MrsBates · 04/08/2008 10:52

Hi Ruty, no I wasn't an actress - not professionally at any rate. I was a director's assistant. Sort of glorified dogsbody really. But massive fun and I miss it a lot. Not a job that fits being a mother though.

I don't know why CB speaks in an American accent in interviews. He didn't have one when I met him. Maybe he thinks the lisp sounds better that way?! I find his success completely inexplicable. And the thought of anyone fancying him is astonishing. I must find the smelling salts at once.
