Just been to see this, the cinema was packed. A black comedy featuring a primary school teacher (Saoirse Ronan) who, under incredible pressure because of a violent and disruptive pupil and a looming Ofsted inspection takes matters into her own hands. Highly implausible but very well acted and entertaining. Lots to think about with the education system failing pupils who can't cope in a standard classroom environment and failing their classmates because of the ensuing disruption.

Just come back too and was looking for a thread. You’ve got to suspend a lot of disbelief - safeguarding, what’s that?! I’ll just call a parent from my mobile 🤦‍♀️ Having said all that, I enjoyed it and it provided a lot of food for though. Great acting from Saorise and the lad who played Danny.

Yes I'm a school governor and was thinking "safeguarding nightmare"!

I saw it yesterday too. Really enjoyed it, lots of gasps at various points from the audience. Agree it's all totally implausible, but the underlying points about education and child neglect seemed true.

Thinking about going to see it and so thoughts welcome from anyone else.

Crazy movie but I really enjoyed it. Acting is fabulous all around. I am a teacher myself and i thought the classroom scenes were very well done. The movie made a lot of interesting points

I enjoyed it and thought so much was implausible too especially in respect to safeguarding. My favourite character was Pauline who appeared to grow more menacing as the film progressed. The actress who played her and Danny are definitely names to watch for the future I feel.

I really enjoyed it - not realistic in terms of day-to-day operations but realistic in terms of how lots of people feel (parents, teachers and pupils). they must have hunted high and low to find a house that had a basement and was detached but also felt even vaguely realistic as somewhere a young-ish teacher could live alone on her salary!

SPOILER
i enjoyed that she became more attractive to her ex once he realised she was nuts/evil 😂

I was so looking forward to this but I was a little disappointed especially in the ending. I love Saoirse Ronan, she is just so watchable and is fabulous in this, as always, as were the 2 child actors but somehow it missed the mark for me overall. I feel it could have been darker, funnier, just something more.

I really enjoyed it.
