Thanks @Britpopbaby, I’ve just watched the trailer - looks good!

I am very excited about this, love a dinosaur!
But I can't deal with Other People at cinemas so will have to wait for streaming!

BEAchDays2 · 16/08/2026 20:56

I thought it was lacking in any chemistry between the two lead characters, and just a poor man’s Jurassic Park/Jumanji to be honest. Very much a two star
.

secretfreckle · 16/08/2026 21:58

@BEAchDays2 I agree re.lack of chemistry. Also terrible acting and accent from Ewan McGregor!
Some of the dinosaurs were rubbish (the giant tortoises and snake) and the dog was a bit CGI.
My daughter and I were laughing at some points.
The ending didn't even make sense.
Anne Hathaway and the 80s are two of my fav things, but this was pretty cringey.
Dinosaurs having sex up against the side of the house - what???!!!
Still it was an entertaining couple of hours.

I quite enjoyed it but felt like there was supposed to be a reveal of why it happened and there wasn't. Is it a book?

Sherararara · 18/08/2026 09:08

Just saw it. Thought the entire lead family were a bunch of incredibly annoying wet losers. Spent the entire time hoping they would all get eaten by the dinosaurs. Best bit (spoiler alert) was when Ewan got eaten. Thank god. Shame the rest didn’t. Especially the boy my god what a cry baby. Then what did they do? Bring the great big wet idiot back when Anne could have taken the chance to go and live an actual life.

I had little idea what this movie was about before we went, just that it involved dinosaurs. I soon found myself wondering if it I was a serious drama or a comedy spoof of Jurassic Park/Jumanji. I was laughing so much at one point (spoiler scene as described above) and trying to hold in that I had tears streaming down my face.
EM's acting was dreadful. A bit odd casting him with AH. The age gap isn't that outrageous but zero chemistry. Seriously annoying kids (main dialogue was mom! dad! mom! dad!) and annoying dog.
It was an entertaining watch though!

SPOILERS

mean, TBF, he's playing a what, 14 yo ish? the literal WHOLE WORLD bar his local area has been transported back in time to the time of hungry dinosaurs and his dog is out there and the girl he fancies is totally gonna get it on with his sister. of course he's upset 🤣

I liked it, it was a. it silly but loved that the dinosaurs were very present,it wasn't just a few dark shadows and gnashing teeth

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 19/08/2026 13:24

I liked the dinosaurs felt more threatening and present then the latest few Jurrasic park films.

Found all the family drama bit boring in parts though.
Ending was intresting in a way though! But entertaining enough. Not sure if meant to be serious or not..if was it didnt come across that way..

FourEyesGood · 19/08/2026 16:20

There was some horribly clunky exposition in the first 15 minutes, which put me off for the rest of the film. It was enjoyable enough in a really silly (and a bit shit) way, but it’s definitely not going to become a classic.
