Does anyone want to chat about upcoming Beatles movie from Sam Mendes

I don’t know what to think, and am dubious about casting, but having seen this pic of Paul Mescal as McCartney, I feel like he has channel Macca through the eyes, does anyone know what I mean?

I'm not sure anyone can play a member of The Beatles and do it justice. Maybe some things are not able to translate into a biopic.

Mescal is masterful in whatever he turns his hand to, I’m sure this will be no different. I’m looking forward to it. Roll on 2028!

Sorry. I'm a big Beatles fan but this just looks fuckin annoying. And I don't think Mendes is a good director. I'm not interested in a dramatisation by him.

I know I’m the only person in the world to not think Paul Mescal is the second coming so it’s a no from me.

I don't know who he is, but I do like the Beatles. I didn't know these films were coming out either, so now I do, I expect I'll go and see them.

I’m not a Paul Mescal fan either but i was struck by this photo! But it’s just a photo and I’m not sure any film can really do them justice…
I’ve heard though that these 4 films will be all about the legacy. Making younger generations more aware of The Beatles etc. and triggering new interest in their music.

Whatever you think of Paul McCartney as a songwriter and musician, any attempt to mirror Young Paul’s facial expressions would involve looking vacant, opening your eyes wide and letting your mouth hang slightly open in an o shape. All of which Paul Mescal is doing in that photo.

I didn't know about these films so thanks for that. The actor has captured Paul's soulful puppy dog look I think. I binge watched Anthology on netflix this week which I loved though it always makes me sad seeing my music heroes in their prime and then remembering that that are now in their 80s or gone.

Another thing to watch is “Understanding Lennon McCartney” on YouTube it’s absolutely brilliant.
