Has anyone seen this? Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor play two music students in 1920 travelling around collecting folk songs. I loved it - very quiet, great performances.

Yes. I thought it was too long for a film with very little substance. I’d have liked to see more of the music being collected and didn’t feel that both leads didn’t really have enough material to get into. I don’t think it worked.
@Sievecandle Gods Own Country with J O is worth watching.

I agree - I would have like to have seen more of the music collection. But I still loved it - I found it really atmospheric and moving.

Must watch God's Own Country- Josh O'Connor can do no wrong, in my opinion.

Same! The Mastermind with him in is on MUBI. They might have a free trial offer so you can watch it.

Did they both do their own singing? Paul Mescal sounded good in the bit I saw.

Think so. There’s a Guardian article about the person who gave them singling lessons I believe.

I thought it was a very mediocre film. Not enough emotion or heart, which there should've been given the subject matter.

I really liked the ending, which deserved a better film!
