What order to introduce DS to Star Wars?

I want to introduce DS7 to Star Wars. He’s been watching Young Jedi adventures on Disney and liking it, so want to introduce him to the real films. I don’t know which one to watch first! Do we watch them in the original order eg A new hope, or watch them in the proper order eg episode 1? (Hate episode 1, the worst film of the whole franchise!!)

Have just had this debate with DH - DD is too young for them at the moment, but her birthday is 4th May so he’s hoping she’ll get into them!

Conclusion was in the original order (A New Hope first). So she doesn’t get turned off by the bad ones.

Ooooh I’ve wrestled with this too OP. My head said that watching them in episode order was the most sensible, but my heart said start with episode IV. I was worried that if I made DS watch the Phantom Menace first, then he might (justifiably) hate it and refuse to watch the others. So we went with A New Hope and the original trilogy in order, followed by episodes I to III and the stragglers. Now we can agree that episode I sucks balls and Jar Jar Binks is a crime against the oeuvre <gavel>

Yes - original order Episode 4,5 and 6 first. As was intended 🙂 Hope they enjoy. I have a photo of DS1's face watching A New Hope for the first time 🥰

Original order for sure. Knowing Luke and Leia are siblings and that Darth Vader is their father is a massive spoiler for the originals.

DH and I almost divorced over whether we should include Clone Wars in DS’ Star Wars initiation. The right answer was NOPE. 👎

Machete order - 4, 5, (flashback time how did anakin become Vader) 1, 2, 3, 6

Ok, will go with the original order. But I feel like doing episode 4,5,6 and then carry on with 7,8,9 might be better and leave 1-3 till last 🤣 7-9 have quite a lot of action so it might interest him still.
I did have episode 1 on a few weeks ago to see if it would peak his interest, but I had to turn it off myself. God what a dreadful film!!
