Hi OP

I don’t know that one.

An oldie, which is about a marriage and will he bump her off, but is humorous is “The New Leaf” starring Walter Matthau. Look it up and see if it suits.

I like:

Game Night

Gone Girl

A Simple Favor

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

The Shape of Water

Nightmare Alley

See No Evil (but is very violent)

Following this thread for new suggestions…..

Death Becomes Her

Devilsmommy · 02/03/2025 17:41

Both of the Murder Mystery films with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston

MarjorieDanvers · 18/03/2025 07:23

Take Me (is very quirky!)

FourSeasonsLobelia · 18/03/2025 18:54

My immediate thought on reading the title was the first Knives Out. I loved that film.

See How They Run

Hitchcock's The 39 Steps?

Chuchoter · 19/03/2025 02:47

So I Married an Axe Murderer
1993

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 19/03/2025 02:56

I loved “Ready or Not” - it’s a horror with a definite edge of comedy.

Latenightreader · 19/03/2025 02:57

Have you seen Grand Budapest Hotel?

Ursulla · 19/03/2025 03:11

Oh I love So I Married An Axe Murderer. Hardly ever see it mentioned now. HEID!

Does The Big Lebowski count? It's maybe unclassifiable.

Volver. Very rich film, kind of a tense story, but also very funny.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is similar to Knives Out in that it's a murder mystery. Also has Robert Downey Jr being v hot.

Drag Me To Hell is a bright, bold, shockingly funny gross out comedy horror that is really slick and nicely done.

GarlicStyle · 19/03/2025 03:47

Also following. Haven't heard of half of these, so I'll have some new viewing lined up!

I liked Dead To Me.

Parasite (Korean) is weird and surprising.

I'm not sure if Don't Look Up! meets your brief - and it's very marmite - but I loved it.

Have you seen Pulp Fiction?

TanteRose · 19/03/2025 04:16

To Die For (Nicole Kidman, Joaquin Phoenix)

piscofrisco · 19/03/2025 04:20

The Lost Boys. Oldie but goodie.

GarlicStyle · 23/03/2025 22:27

Just coming back to this as I'm on the last episode of The Residence. It's thoroughly entertaining and I still have no idea whodunnit!

MemorableTrenchcoat · 23/03/2025 22:41

Clue
Murder by Death
Silver Streak

Belshels · 23/03/2025 22:45

Not films but series, both dark humour and funny, Dead To Me, and Desperate Housewives (all series) Also How To Get Away With Murder.

colouringindoors · 26/03/2025 23:45

The Thomas Crown Affair.

Pearce Brosnan version.

I loved “Ready or Not” - it’s a horror with a definite edge of comedy.

I was going to suggest this! It's definitely more of a scary hide and seek film than a clever mystery, but it's also funny.

Nitgel · 12/05/2025 20:05

Housebound currently on bbc iplayer ticks the boxes. Very entertaining.
