End of the world stuff so Don't look up, Day after tomorrow
General thrillers like the Bourne series without loads of mindless shooting or men with tops off
Mildly scary ghost stories eg Woman in Black, Haunting of Hill house but not proper gory stuff
Mysteries like Woman in the Window.

Definitely not
Romantic comedies
Family films
Anything with loads of shagging scenes
Fantasy like Game of thrones stuff or the Witcher.

Children of men is a good call. Saw it at the cinema years ago. The others sound great ta!

Did you find anything good? Dystopian without being ‘sci fi’ is my favourite genre too, across both book and film.

Not a film, but I’m guessing you’ve watched Handmaid’s Tale? The first and second seasons are excellent but I lost traction after that. It’s one I’d watch from the start again though.
