Has anyone been to see it yet? We are going tomorrow so hope it is as good as the first two.

Saw it on Sunday and loved it but have similar aged children to those in the film so feel like they have grown up together.

InWithThePlums · 17/11/2024 16:37

It’s got different writers and directors to the first one so makes sense that it wouldn’t be the same.

*to the first two.

Saw it yesterday with 2 teens and a primary aged child.
We loved it. As a mother of a teen boy it was rather apt and funny as couldn't have been more accurate for my 16 year old.
As an overall film it's a sweet family film but the other 2 were better.

MerelyPlaying · 17/11/2024 16:52

Not as good as 1 and 2 but still good fun - eight-year old enjoyed it, five year old got a bit bored. I probably enjoyed it more because of the references, e.g. guitar playing nun, Indiana Jones. Olivia Coleman is outstanding. Definitely stay for the credits at the end!

Oh yes I agree

Went yesterday really enjoyed it!!

rainbowbee · 17/11/2024 17:36

Really enjoyed it! Much more than I thought I would. Olivia Coleman is fantastic as ever and Antonio Banderas is quite funny too.
A 2yr old wouldn't follow it so best not unless there's a special screening for small children.

AlitheAllosaurus · 17/11/2024 17:46

We went yesterday and enjoyed it, but it did miss some of the charm of the first two. My two year old sat through the whole thing and enjoyed it! Obviously some went over his head but he was happy with his snacks and seeing Paddington with his older siblings.

i would like to take my 2 year old to cinema and wondered if this is suitable?

I think it is not suitable because there are some frightening parts - for example Paddington falling off a tree on a mountain, into rapids and then struggling in the water and going over a waterfall.

I loved it though I haven’t seen 1& 2. It was Paddington with a touch of Tintin, perhaps - definitely an adventure film.

Iamblossom · 20/11/2024 11:53

The only bits I liked about it were the beginning when he was still in London and the end when he was back in London.

I loved Paddington in Peru, I think it was my favourite of the three 😳

I'm going with my 15 year old on Friday 😂 I've bribed him with a Nando's

I went with a 17 year old. Never too old for Paddington! (Maybe the TGI's also helped...)

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 21/11/2024 13:36

Did anyone else spot the photo in Paddington's attic bedroom?
Very near the beginning of the film when Mrs Brown gives him the letter from Olivia Coleman.
It's Paddington and the Queen at their tea party!

hattie43 · 21/11/2024 13:54

Saw it on Wednesday. Good fun caper but preferred no 2.

MyOtherProfile · 23/11/2024 07:19

I also have children around the same age as the Brown children and we all loved this. In fact I think it's my favourite of the three but maybe because I over identified with the empty sofa art project!

We missed the photo if Paddington and the Queen. What a lovely idea.

We’re going tomorrow. All the reviews I’ve read say it’s fine and perfectly entertaining but not a patch on Paddington 2 (which is an actual masterpiece).

Absolutely agree with this. I really enjoyed it, but the new Mrs Brown isn't quite right. She's not ditzy enough. Only in the UK would you get a crowd of leading actors performing alongside a fictional bear!

I looked for that but I missed it. Apparently the Royal family were asked for permission to use it. I bet she'd have been delighted.

Hatey · 01/12/2024 21:18

I enjoyed it. Saw on my own. Was in a showing with lots very young children, they were so excited, made me nostalgic.
I thought the new Mrs Brown did very well. So hard playing the part after the original actress.
The end credits were so funny. Everyone stayed to watch.

Hello! Were there any parts of the film’s content that were unsuitable, or any inappropriate scenes or language?

Unsuitable for what?

Strangers · 28/12/2024 10:40

Pretty boring.

Nothing unsuitable- just the usual 'mild peril' for kids' films - bad guys getting away, chasing Paddington etc. If you've watched the previous Paddingtons it's all on the same lines.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. If you read the review of the first Paddington film in the link below, you’ll see what I mean. Unfortunately, the website hasn’t been updated with a similar review for Paddington in Peru that covers sexual/nudity content, violence/gore, and language. That’s why I thought I’d ask here for your take on the film in those categories.
