I watched this last week - it was completely mind-blowing and heartbreaking. What a masterpiece!
I can't stop thinking about it and how war affects civilian populations.

Yeah it destroyed me

Whenever I try to explain it to someone I start crying

This is such a heart breaking film. Very upsetting viewing but truly wonderful.

An amazing film. Utterly devastating but important.

I think it's just extraordinary!

Apparently it's based on a short story which is based partly on the real experience of the author, some elements are very close. Just heartbreaking. The author made his behavior more noble in the story.

One of my favourite movies, however I don't plan to re-watch it for a very long time. The fact it was double bill with Totoro blows my mind.

It's a beautiful film

Oh my gosh this film is utterly heartbreaking and tragic. I was a shell for a week after watching it and thought about it every day - it showed the effect of war on such a personal level.

It’s been a few years but I am not sure I’m emotionally strong enough to watch it again, it goes to show how powerful this story was told.

Alalalala · 07/12/2024 15:37

Beautiful and absolutely heart breaking. I can never watch it again. Hurts just to think about it.

levantine · 07/12/2024 15:38

One of the saddest films I have ever seen

VarneytheVamp · 07/12/2024 15:39

One of those films that’s amazingly good but that I probably won’t watch again. I think I’m still traumatised and I was a teen when I watched it, so many years ago now!

YellowSwanFrom · 07/12/2024 15:40

Yes, and never again, tragic. It’s too emotional for me to even contemplate watching again.
