Is it time for new movie about Cleopatra?

I'd recently seen the 1963 version on television, realized it's based on a book at the time, and was re-reading Stacy Schiff's great book, Cleopatra ... and I was thinking that I believe there have only been three English-language talkie films about Cleopatra: 1934 (Claudette Colbert), 1945 (Vivien Leigh), and 1963 (Elizabeth Taylor).

Aren't we due for another one? It would be fun to have Schiff's mastermind version.

Denise Villeneuve is working on 'Cleopatra' movie. Zendaya is rumoured to star, which I hope won't happen.

I have fond childhood memories of watching 1963 movie. The scene where Cleopatra enters Rome is one of my favourite movie scenes. It was so majestic when I was watching it for the very first time.

The 1963 version is still impressive. In fact, maybe it's even more impressive now, because we know that at the time, every thing was real, not artificially generated.

Okay, but I think the point of these disputes is usually over whether she would have been considered to be black.

I think Lady Gaga would be a good choice. She's very versatile. I didn't realise it was her in Gucci.
