This is back in cinemas, recording of a national theatre show featuring Jodie Comer. I went to see it the other night.

I thought while the script was a bit cumbersome in places, and some of the lighting/music were a bit jarring, JC was absolutely outstanding. She kept the whole cinema on the edge of their seats.

Anyone else seen it?

I saw it when it was first in the cinema, and at the ripe old age of 45, it started my love of theatre.
I've seen 15 plays/musicals/opera since, most on the West end.

Love this!

Anyone know if there are plans for it be shown again in cinemas?

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 23/12/2024 14:31

You can subscribe to. National theatre at home for a month or single play and watch it at home.

It was her first theatre role...can you believe it? Won an Olivier and a Tony. She a phenomenon.

I’ve seen and didn’t find it particularly hard-hitting, although I can see why some might.

Astonishing performance but what a wall of words! I kept wanting to say “Paragraphs are your friend!” in my best mumsnetty voice. Exhausting.

Theatre obviously wasted on you then

Not seen it but the audio book is amazing.

That was definitely a waste of my evening, but we are all individuals and are affected by different things.

I think the acting was amazing but the plot was thin. Perhaps the idea that people feel differently about crimes and the justice system when they are personally affected is new to you.

Saw it live. She was incredible.

I agree. I also thought the script was very thin. The actress did an incredible job to make it seem like a substantial piece.

If I'd seen it in person I would have given a standing ovation and never let her off the stage

As it was I saw it in cinema and I was weeping with my face in my knees by the end and everyone was clapping - in a cinema

It was incredible
