Harold and the purple crayon

Actually better than the trailers suggested but the lead actor was too old for the role by a good decade. Zoey Deschanel could barely talk she's had so much lip filler/Botox above her lip. She was wearing these frumpy heeled boots the whole time, even to her job - stacking shelves in a shop. Ludicrous... of course you'd wear flats.

What odd things to comment on after watching a kids' film, especially the boots!

I didn't enjoy it, but the nap I had was pretty good. I did notice Zooey's lips looking rather lopsided, and the Harold actor reminded me of a cheesy kids entertainer, I can't remember his name but a bit like The Wiggles!

Oh my 4yo loves that book! What age would you say the film is aimed at?
Had to Google Zooey Deschanel after you mentioned her as I haven't seen her in anything for ages - she looks great in recent photos IMO, not fake or frozen at all. Maybe she looks different live on screen though. Can't believe she's 44!

I’d say 5 years + but there is a genuinely terrifying spider fly thing in it that is so out of kilter with the rest of the film. If you do go then warn your child to close their eyes as soon as the spider fly appears on screen
