Help trying to find this film please

It was many years ago that I watched this film, very vague with the details so probably didn’t watch it all. It started off with a young guy (American) mowing a lawn, that was his job. Based in suburbia. Not much to go I know but would appreciate any help.

I bet you anything it's Lawn Dogs. It's a brilliant film - I've been meaning to watch it again for ages. I really, really want to see it now!

Not on amazon prime so I bought the dvd for £6.00.

I love tracking old, hard to get stuff and buying the dvds.

Surely it’s Can’t buy Me Love with Patrick Dempsey. One of the greatest movies of the 80’s 🤣. My friend and I rented it every weekend for months! X
