Shark movies with great shark footage

I've probably seen most of the shark movies out there, and I love them all - from the documentaries to the Sharknado nonsense ones! I watched The Reef: Stalked again last night and while it's not the greatest film ever, it does have some really lovely footage of real sharks. Are there any others I may have missed?

Ooh. Black demon is a good film. Watched it on a Sunday afternoon. Perfect.

The original The Reef is excellent - I don’t think it was the same director for the second one. They used real shark footage in a really effective way - one of the people in the water keeps fucking under the water with a mask to see where the shark is and it’s real footage used - very well done.

I love a shark movie but I hate anything CGI’d if it purports itself to be a serious film. Even the Shallows was completely spoilt for me because the shark was so unrealistic.

Ducking not fucking - oh the irony 😂

I agree, crappy fake sharks are always a disappointment. And the original The Reef was terrifying, especially when he first ducks under and then says "it's a shark". Nightmare fuel.

There aren't enough good shark movies.

Ooo I’m joining for the recommendations, love a shark movie although I’m afraid I sit on the other side of the fence with the crappy ones, I love a shit cgi shark movie! The one that comes to mind is Ice Sharks where they seem to use the same snippet of footage of a shark and just keep flipping the clip so it seems different.
Deep Blue Sea probably remains my favourite and I do love The Shallows and 47 Metres Down too.

Try Bait, it's an Australian film, excellent, my favourite shark movie by a mile

Hello Chandler

TinyYellow · 14/07/2024 11:58

Might not be the type of film you’re looking for but have you watched shark water extinction?

There's a new one on Netflix called Under Paris where, yes, a bunch of sharks invade Paris! No idea if it's any good as it's currently on the watch list, but surely it's worth a go.

Devilsmommy · 14/07/2024 14:21

@PossumintheHouse no that movie is awful

We loved it! Daft as a brush but very entertaining and lots of shark shots.
