Can you help me this movie

US movie, set in the 80s or 90s in, possibly LA
A terror attack happens and a couple are separately trying to make it back to the safety of their home as advised on the emergency announcements. He gets there first and following advice seals the house up around the windows and doors .
Any ideas?

It's annoying me because I can picture a movie in my head but can remember the main actress and actress names not movie title

Maybe John Cusack and or Sandra Bullock but that is not really 100% what I am thinking

I don't recall they leads being known names.

Wracking my brains I want to say "something, something Door" I thought possibly "Straight to your door" but the gods of IMDB say no.

I remember there being a really good twist in the plot ( wonts say what, dont want to do a spoiler)
