Is there a downloadable version of Love Actually with the porn body-doubles story line cut out?

Elf? Click and collect? Any of the endless hallmark Christmas films that are on at this time of year?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/11/2023 19:44

Thank you, but that's not what I meant. I know of many other cheesey Hallmark Christmas films!

I mean the actual Love Actually film, with the porn story cut out.

Friends of ours who lived in the Middle East say that there was a sanistised version shown over there, I was wondering if it was more widely available.

Even without the porn story the language is also pretty bad. I tried to watch it with my nan. Told her it was a nice story about different kinds of love and Christmas. The swearing and porn meant we had to turn it off quite quickly. We watched Hairspray instead.

Mariluisa · 27/11/2023 19:54

I’d like to think so!

My children were quite young when it came out and we didn’t see it. Then it appeared on TV when we were living in Europe but they were still youngish.

So I watched it with my eldest with subtitles. But it was just vile with the porn story. Like, why?

FKATondelayo · 27/11/2023 19:57

Why do you want the porn story cut out? It's still pretty offensive and misogynistic and unsuitable for children without that segment.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 27/11/2023 19:58

The porn bit isn’t the only problem with the film!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 27/11/2023 20:03

The porn story is pretty bad, but your children coming out with, "Where the fuck is my fucking coat?" in the cloakroom at school might be considered that way too.

Probably not by me though, it's one of my favourite bits.

Mariluisa · 27/11/2023 20:29

Yes, it’s years ago now but the more I reflect on pps comments the more I remember that the porn story is not the only problem about the film

spilltheteapot · 27/11/2023 20:30

“Where the fuck is my fucking coat” is one of the best bits.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/11/2023 21:01

DD(12) was curious about how all the stories converge at the end. It's been ages since I last saw it, but sounds like there's more that unsuitable than I remembered.

I've watched it with my Ds (12) and we just had a discussion around the porn bit and the language is no worse than she hears in school! I still say to myself in my head 'where the fuck is my fucking [insert item], daily'!

LlynTegid · 28/11/2023 17:58

Sorry to read that you want to see such a dated film again. Porn, stalkerish behaviour- is that really worth watching? Must be the worst thing Richard Curtis ever wrote.

TomeTome · 28/11/2023 18:01

Can’t you just fast forward? Watching any kind of sexy scene with the generation below or above is excruciating.

Rocknrollstar · 28/11/2023 18:02

It’s not a good movie. Why don’t you just watch something else?

TheMarzipanDildo · 08/12/2023 20:27

I’m pretty sure they’re not porn actors, just stunt doubles for a conventional film sex scene.

Not that that makes it appropriate for kids, mind.

TitusMoan · 08/12/2023 20:29

It’s an awful film. Cut it all out 👍🏻

AnnaMagnani · 09/12/2023 12:06

The porn body doubles are the only healthy relationship in the whole film!

Gingerboy22 · 10/12/2023 16:59

You would think on the movie forum that you would be fairly safe from derision and attack but no... there's always a few

skyeisthelimit · 10/12/2023 17:18

I've never seen any other version around. DD is 15 but a total prude, so I can't watch it with her Grin.
