I watched this last night, I had read the book previously, and enjoyed it.
It got me to thinking... She didn't go with her 'true love', the person who said 'this kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime ' about their love.
She didn't go because she respected her husband, and thought her DCs still needed her (aged 17 and 16)
I'm with her, I'd have stayed for the same reasons, BUT if she had gone, most probably their passion would have been tempered over the years by the drudgery of day to day living so probably it was best to leave it as a memory of 4 idyllic days
I did have tears in my eyes as she coped with that gut wrenching loss
Whatdso you think?
