What was this film?

My mum recorded it off the tv in the very early 90s. Not sure what year it was made by it I presume late 80s or early 90s and I think it was set in the 1959s or 60s.

British film, about a load of kids from a dance school or dance class going away to enter a dance competition. It was a character type piece rather than majorly plot focused, amusing rather than laugh out loud funny, a bit of an odd film. I’ve googled all
of this and nothing comes up. Thought it might be Stepping Out but that’s American so definitely not. Any ideas?

I think I remember this. At the competition onoe of the younger girls sang and danced to "There's a little white duck" an older girl had a wardrobe malfunction when her costume fell off. One of the boys accompanying the school was "special" and got teased by others.
I have no idea what it was called as I probably watched it in the 80s, and I think I missed the beginning of it. I'm going to have to do some detective work!

Yes, this is the one! What iiiiiiis iiiiiit?? I can’t believe I can’t find anything relating to it by googling the plot, rough date and premise. It’s like it didn’t exist.
