Planning to take my 6 year old DGD, with her older brother, to see this film. She’s pretty robust and apparently likes the character but just wanted to check it’s not likely to be too scary/ sad for her.

Totally suitable. Even my cowardy custard 5 year old loved it.

Haven’t seen it myself but Common Sense Media gave it an 8+ rating.

Totally suitable, we loved it!

My nearly 6 year olds were scared by this several times. They were hiding behind my arms! They were more scared by this one than anything else we've seen recently! Just the style of the movie I guess as we see other films with the same rating.

My 6 year old was scared by the wolf and was very quiet on the way home. But she loved the rest of the film.

I watched it with my 7 and 5 year old and they were fine. I found the wolf quite scary 😳but my 5 year old was much more scared of Matilda, I guess the fact the characters are cartoon animals makes it less scary

I imagine some 6 year olds would find the death character scary but if she’s robust it should be fine, it’s not sad at all either.

My 10 year old was afraid of the wolf. If you have a sensitive kid I'd give it a miss. There's quite a lot of dread.

ChildminderMum · 16/02/2023 14:55

My 5 year old wasn't bothered at all.

I went with a friend and her DC 6, 9 and 13. We were scared of the wolf but the 6 year old loved it!

My 6 year old loved it

I think it depends on the temperament of the child. My 7 yo nephew loved it but a more sensitive child might find the wolf / grim reaper character scary. Also Tom Thumb is pretty alarming!
