Suggestions for movie night 2 x DS age 4 and 7

Hello,
Geeling uninspired for tonight's movie night - we have Netflix, Prime and Disney Plus. We've seen quite a lot. Has anyone watched older movies like The Never Ending story with kids that age? Probably a bit much for the 4 year old. Any suggestions gratefully received!

BlueRaincoat1 · 04/02/2023 13:03

We do have lego movie, and haven't watched it in a long time. Could be a contender, thanks!

The Iron Giant is a great film for those ages. You might have to pay for it though.

whatevenissleepanymore · 04/02/2023 13:06

Harry Potter, The Croods,

BlueRaincoat1 · 04/02/2023 13:11

Iron Giant is wonderful and one of my all time faves. Holding off on Harry Potter until they've rad the books first. Seen the Croods.

After trying to persuade them to watch Iron Giant again they've reminded me about Inside Out which we haven't seen and have been intending to watch for ages.
So think we're going for that.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Madagascar?

CottonSock · 04/02/2023 13:22

Inside out is nice. We also liked Sing and Totoro.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/02/2023 13:23

The Iron Giant. An absolutely wonderful film.

We watched inside out a couple of weeks ago. One of my favourites but last time I tried to get the DC to watch it at 4 and 3 they didn't get it at all but this time at 5 and 4 they loved it. Little bit of explaining needed for the 4 year old and the 5 year old found it quite emotional but he is quite sensitive to films anyway.

Mr Bean’s Holiday is surprisingly good.

MollyRover · 04/02/2023 13:43

Fantastic Mr. Fox, I think it's on Disney. Wes Anderson stop-go animation so one for the whole family. You'll thank me later!

EternalSunshine19 · 04/02/2023 13:52

The Land Before Time. Its from the 80's but is fabulous. Everyone will enjoy it

BlueRaincoat1 · 04/02/2023 13:56

Fantastic Mr Fox and Land before Time are great suggestions! Is land before time on Disney?

Inside Out was really good, that Bing Bong bit was a big 😭though...

My son hated never ending story 🙈. I had to turn it off when the horse went into the mud. A film my 9 year old and 4 year old have both recently loved is short circuit, the one with the robot! Also encanto and the newish one strange world.

CottonSock · 05/02/2023 12:34

Thought of a few more.Peter rabbit 1 and 2 we all enjoyed. Strange magic.

Hopeful16 · 05/02/2023 15:27

@BlueRaincoat1 I agree. That part makes me cry EVERY time I watch it - much to OH's amusement! 😭😭😭
