Has anyone seen this film?

Really moving. It makes you realise what refugees go through. They’re all very brave, I guess desperation gives courage to try anything to escape war. I feel blessed that I’ve never had to experience that. It’s a very difficult issue for many countries to take in these millions of refugees but I hope people can at least have some empathy after watching a movie like this. Very emotional.

Synopsis:
Two Syrian sisters flee their war-torn home in Damascus, swim for hours in choppy Mediterranean seas to reach Greece as asylum seekers before going on to compete at the Rio Olympic Games.

It's next on my list! I watched Farha last night on Netflix. That's pretty amazing if you're into moving, emotional films and has won lots of awards.

is it a true story?

Nimbostratus100 · 23/04/2023 08:01

are they with a boat? I know of a story of two swimmers who set off in a boat filled with asylum seekers, and they had to tow the boat when the engines failed - is it these two girls?

Willmafrockfit · 23/04/2023 08:02

yes @Nimbostratus100
