Just watching it at the minute. Seems good so far? Not like anything I've seen before.

I also think it’s fine to depict a person of a certain age verbally lusting after a much younger adult.

Yes. Now I think the film was interesting as it made me think and compare. When he asked if there were any men interested in her, she replied that there were but she didn't want to have sex with an old man.

The scene I thought we were given a glimpse of him being traumatised was where he visibly became emotional and froze, then sort of pulled himself together. ET's character didn't witness that and wasn't aware.

He clearly tells her he's not comfortable and the only way he can do his job is if he pretends to be someone else . The look on his face though was amazing, so well acted. I've not seen him anything before.

They should've left the whole waitress scenes out of the film completely.

It was well acted.

I really enjoyed the film as it gave me a lot to think about. It's ok, I think, to not want to sleep with 'an old man' and to still be attracted to young men when we are older ourselves.

So amazing of her to show her body in full like that- so striking and moving- like a pp, I agree we just never see real, older bodies like that.

But men seem to be unfairly criticised for that, though I realise that people like you are probably not the ones criticising.

I've not seen that actor before but thought he was very good.

Yes you’re right, men would be criticised if it was the other way around. Food for thought!

Littlepinkstarsbyradish · 10/08/2023 00:49

I loved it! Thought it spoke to both characters pain, and didn’t think it gave the audience any “easy answers” in terms of exploitation of either tbh
I cried at the end (won’t spoil it)

Daryll McCormack….he’s lovely.

Yea, I really enjoyed it.

Nice change from the usual old man with young woman as is usual in Hollywood films.
