Has anyone else seen this yet? I just went on my own to watch it and loved it. Very beautiful film.. had leaky eyes by the end!

The novel was one of the Duchess of Cornwalls reading room choices and the interviews with the author were excellent, well worth having a look at.
I've read the book and went to see the film yesterday. It brought tears to my eyes at the end even though I knew the ending.

I think it was established that the hat used to be his and that he gifted it to her. I think that was in the book

Just finished reading the book and loved it! Not sure if I want to see the film as often the adaptations are nowhere near as good, but equally I want to see it as would love to see the scenery and how it's portrayed.

Film is good too. She is a bit too clean - but otherwise it was a good representation of the book.
I hope that is what the scenery of the area is really like as I was fascinated by the descriptions in the book.

By finding the shell necklace, that's what I assume.

Or she found the body before it was discovered by the boys. And took the necklace back.

This! I've read the book, enjoyed it, especially the environment/wildlife angle. But as soon as I saw the trailer I thought wow. Way too clean and tidy. She would have been far dirtier and more ragged. From the trailer the film looked sanitised so I've given it a miss

Yes. The book made that clear at the end.i thought the twist was her boyfriend did it but no.

I don't get why the film reviews were so bad. I loved the book, truly loved it, one of my favourite ever and really enjoyed the movie.

Saw it a couple of nights ago , the book passed me by but I loved the film .

Watched the movie a couple of days ago and was expecting to see how it happened, from reading the early posts of this thread it seems the book explains it.

so did it happen like her defense lawyer said there’s no way she could have done that? Did she take the late bus, kill him and then another bus back into the city to meet her editor in the Morning?

Loved the film really good
