Has anyone been to see the new Jurassic World film with a 5 year old?
It's 12A so our DS could come with us and he is dinosaur mad but I'm not sure if it's too scary for this age?
Thoughts?

I'm taking my nearly 6 year old

Just taken my DD6 to see it - she too is dinosaur mad. She had already seen all the others though so knew it would be fine (she is fine with a few scares). Totally going to depend on your child, there were a few scenes that she had a little hide behind her jumper - she gave it 100 stars (personally I thought it was pants but we had fun!)

Interested to hear some of you have brought younger ones. My 5yo is also Jurassic mad.

Saw it last night with my 8 year old. A couple of jump scares, slightly confusing plot, but I think it is fine for a 5 year old.

It was i n c r e d i b l y s l o o o o w . . .

I just saw that Stacey Solomon took Rex who is 3 and quite honestly my 3 year old doesn’t get further than 20 minutes into a film, where do I get a child that will watch a film please? Haha

I'm taking my 4 year old. Mainly because I'm a single parent and my 6 and 9 year old boys want to go. Ill take her some colouring or something if she gets bored and plenty of snacks.

Looking at the reviews maybe take some for yourself too 😁

As long as he doesn't talk or shout! Just sat though an evening sitting (it's brilliant if you like dinosaurs) and some kid in front asked plot points and another one shouted out. Was genuinely surprised to see a couple of really small kids there.

Im watching fallen kingdom today with our 5yo to see how he gets on with it before deciding on whether to bring him or get a sitter

We went yesterday and my 11yo jumped a few times but loved it and would have been fine a few years ago.

There were a lot of younger kids and the thing I notice the most was that they were up and down like bloody yo-yo's going to the toilet every 10 minutes and buying more snacks. And talking. A lot.

I'm taking my 6 and 11 year old to see it.

I took my then five year old to see the last one, and then watched the new one with him (now ten) on Friday. I'd say so long as he is prepared for the loud roaring (and yes, a slightly confusing plot) it's fine.

I'm positive there is less gore than there used to be, but that could just be my memory.
I watched JP1 twice in opening week when I was seven 😄

PatriciaHolm · 13/06/2022 11:26

*I'm positive there is less gore than there used to be, but that could just be my memory."

DD (17, has seen them all) said exactly that; and that the peril, as it was, was much less than in the others.

We all enjoyed it, for what it is - a summer fun monster movie. Though she thought the portrayal of the villain was a bit on the nose ;-)

Thanks everyone! I took my DS 5 to see it and he loved it!

Can't say about taking a 5 year old..film in general so disappointed! Can see why it's been so badly received. Was looking forward to seeing dinosaurs in the wild and how it all played out instead was just blah and they didn't feature much. Too much random moments and corn...

Yeah but does jeff Goldblum get his chest out?
Have decided to leave our 5yo with grandparents next week and just talking 10yo
