Kenneth B having another go with the silly moustache.
Did I see that Emma Thomson is doing a new version of "Why didn't they ask Evans?"
Why? Do they think it is easy money? TV repeats will be a nice little top up for the pension.
They will all be entirely off the pace, long lingering shots of 'clever' interiors and artfully positioned props.
Stop it.

I didn't mind some of the plot/character changes to the latest version of DOTN. What I do object to is changing the back story and fundamental character of Poirot himself!!! Giving him a back story for his moustache is annoying. I also didn't like scenes where he was portrayed as being tongue tied and lacking in confidence. That is not the spirit of Poirot!

My eight year old daughter loves the 1978 DOTN and it’s one of her favourite treats to watch it and then pause the film and explain how they do the murder 🤣. I think the David Suchet adaptation is a bit more adult though and the Kenneth Branagh one just looks awful so we’ll stick with Peter Ustinov.

She also likes to comb her three year old brother’s hair into a side parting so he looks like Simon Doyle Grin

I have to agree with all the above - it's especially annoying when the BBC changes the plot, but has nice costumes. Write your own drama - don't mangle Mrs Christie.

It's the same with 'Agatha Christie' books written by Sophie Hannah - good enough stories but not fully Agatha Christie's style.

Ordeal by Innocence with Bill Nighy was ridiculous. If you are going to change the murderer etc call it a completely different name and have a tagline 'screenplay inspired by the story of Ordeal by Innocence by Agatha Christie'.
I have been saying this for years! Totally agree, it’s shameless the way these new adaptations have ruined her work. Blame her great grandson - he sold her out. It also makes me want to weep!

Not going to see DOTN I don’t think. I hated MOTOE, and the reviews here aren’t giving me confidence in this one!
I’d like to see Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver and Josephine Tey’s Miss Pym books dramatised. I suppose the problem is that their detectives are perceived as being a bit similar to Miss Marple, but they aren’t really…

I feel this way about Jane Austen and the poxy Tudors. Give Henry VIII a rest already.
