Personally I wouldn't bother - was very disappointed in it

pinkteddy · 28/12/2007 20:14

really? I was looking forward to it. Why disappointed?

hoxtonchick · 28/12/2007 20:14

the play's good.....

Vacua · 28/12/2007 20:15

yes to play but no to film

see play first if still on?

Bluestocking · 28/12/2007 20:15

Or would we be better off watching "Meet the Fockers"?

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 20:17

Oh I'd heard such a lot about it - was really looking forward to seeing it and just found the characters mostly unattractive to a greater or lesser degree, the big plot 'thing' obvious from a distance of a hundred miles away - basically dh and I agreed as the titles rolled that that was 2 hours of our lives we'd never get back and could have done something much more fun with!

I can imagine it being more effective on the stage actually.

No. I found it disappointing, too.

Magrat · 28/12/2007 20:19

I really enjoyed the film

not seen the play

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 20:19

vacua and expat - so relieved I'm not alone

myrrhthamoo · 28/12/2007 20:20

I was put off my reviews I read at the time but my parents loved it so I think I'll give it a go. Don't fancy Meet the Fockers.

constancereader · 28/12/2007 20:21

Well I enjoyed it. It didn't change my life or anything, but it was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

lalaa · 28/12/2007 20:23

i think it depends what mood you are in.we're goimng to watch MTF. i thought the history boys was absolutely brilliant, but i've never seen the play. if dh wasn't here, i'd probably watch it again.

JoyeuxNoelBiggy · 28/12/2007 20:24

I enjoyed it but couldn't put my finger on the reason!

Magrat · 28/12/2007 20:24

Meet the Fockers by the way is a pile of puerile poo

Bluestocking · 28/12/2007 20:25

A pile of puerile poo? Surely not!!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 20:26

but the title sounded so suitable and adult and sophisticated - I feel betrayed

Magrat · 28/12/2007 20:26

a big steaming peurile dung-heap in fact

expatinscotland · 28/12/2007 20:27

anyone who wastes their time watching a film like 'meet the fockers' sort of has it coming though, don't they?

Magrat · 28/12/2007 20:27

I am judging purely based on the trailers of course

best way to judge if you ask me

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 20:29

well most trailers show the best things about a film so I think that's a good way to judge

PrismManchip · 28/12/2007 20:51

Meet the Fockers is a horrendous film - teeth-itchingly bad
I like a bit of puerile poo but god it was so unfunnny
