My mum once said that good looking women are typically either pretty or beautiful, but some rare ones are both...then named Elizabeth Taylor...and my best friend as examples. Oh well.

I second Brooke Shields in her youth. Probably more of a model that acted IMO but when she graced all those US Vogue covers and did the Calvin Klein jeans adverts I literally hadn't seen anyone that stunning before.

I have a dear old friend (literally old) who's an actor and has met most of the women on this list, and he said Vivien Leigh was, in person, the most beautiful women he's ever met in his life.

The one who played Melanie in Gone With the Wind was pretty stunning.

Oh, and Gong Li in her heyday (the various Zhang Yimou films). I could sit and gaze at her face all day!
